"The 2019 research year was an extremely successful year for the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) of Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU)," says Dean of Research Prof. Sadrieh, summing up the latest, recently published edition of the FEM's research report, a performance review of the research activities of the past year. "Never before in the 26-year history of the faculty have so many doctorates been successfully obtained and so much third-party funding raised as in 2019. The faculty also recorded great successes in terms of publications and academic awards, continuing the positive trend of the past few years ...". Read more here.
Congratulations and many thanks to the researchers of the faculty, all administrative staff, assistants etc., who are also behind the truly remarkable research output in 2019, and last but not least, to the team led by Prof. Sarstedt, who once again successfully prepared the relevant information and data for this brochure!
"Every summer," announced on the homepage of the organizing board of trustees," about 30-40 Nobel Prize winners and approx. 600 outstanding young scientists from all over the world come together in Lindau on the lake Bodensee. Since its inception in 1951, the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings have promoted the exchange between scientists of different generations, cultures and fields ...". Following the nomination by the faculty in the fall of 2019, and the subsequent rigorous selection process, the good news has finally arrived: Dr. Stefan Kupfer, research associate at the FEM Chair of Innovation and Finance Management (Prof. Lukas), has made it, i.e. received an invitation to participate in the next meeting! Although the meeting cannot take place in 2020 in light of the corona virus as planned, but will most likely take place next year, it does not detract from the honor. Congratulations!

Prof. Andreas Knabe, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, has prepared a welcome video addressed to our FEM freshmen and comments in general on current issues concerning the special teaching conditions during this summer semester.
Just in time for the start of the 2020 summer semester, PD Dr. Thomas Kirschstein (MLU Halle-Wittenberg) and Dr. Janis Sebastian Neufeld (TU Dresden) have taken over the temporarily vacant chairs of Operations Management and Management Science. The former chair holders - Professor Kiesmüller (OM) and Jan Ehmke (MS), whom the Faculty Council had recently bid farewell with some melancholy, have been called to the TU Munich and the University of Vienna respectively. For the coming weeks, until the regular filling of the positions, two excellent representatives of their fields of expertise have been secured for Magdeburg, the aforementioned deputy professors Kirschstein and Neufeld. Research and teaching of the faculty, and in particular, the audience of their courses, can look forward to excellent new additions to the FEM's professorial team.
